I found out early in June that for the entire month of May my dad had been doing a month-long novena for me which involved going to daily Mass. I understood! God had said, " I will send her my Spirit". And boy did I feel it!  It changed my life.

I was always a faithful believer who, in May, was "converted". The biggest change is a love renewed in me for the sacraments. Probably my children would say I was more patient if they could express that. My husband might say I'm more at peace. I am forever grateful for the Spirit of God that has been renewed in me. God's messages to us at Medjugorje are simply a call back to living out the Gospel of His Son. I sense that He has won over my heart so far - and I know He wants to do the same for all of us. Our free will is a gift: which God gave so that we might freely choose Him. But unless we open ourselves and say, "I'm Yours!" He cannot enter fully into our lives.

God called me out of my normal routine to help bear witness to the graces He is offering to us here and now at Medjugorje. Some are left to lead quiet lives of behind-the-scenes prayer - like perhaps my Granddad was. Mary invites each of us to examine what plan God has for us to help bring His plan of salvation to fruition:
"I want to call you to start living a new life as of today. Dear children, I want you to comprehend that God has chosen each one of you, in order to use you in a great plan for the salvation of mankind. You are not able to comprehend how great your role is in God's design. Therefore, dear children, pray so that in prayer you maybe able to comprehend what is God's plan through you. I am with you - in order that you may be able to bring it about in all its fullness. " - January 25, 1987
